What is ...
Thai Massage
Thai massage, which is also known as Thai yoga massage, is a traditional form of therapeutic massage that uses acupressure principles, awareness of energy lines from ancient Indian systems, and can include yoga stretches. Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor, and you keep your (loose, comfy) clothes on throughout. Takeshi's massages are unique and highly intuitive, and often last up to two hours, as he draws on teachings from various teachers and traditions, and focuses deeply on areas of tension found in the body to encourage profound and long-lasting release - and relief.
*Takeshi is a graduate of the International Training Massage School's Certified Advanced Practioner and Teacher Training Program (CAPT), and has studied intensively with various other schools and masters in Thailand and India.
Reiki
"Rei ki" is Japanese, and translates into Universal Life Force or Energy. The practitioner works with this energy, which flows everywhere and is accessible to everyone (because it is essentially love!), to balance the energy centers, which helps awaken and inspire the body's innate healing capacity. Reiki is often done in person with a gentle laying of hands on several positions along the (clothed) body to stimulate energy centers (chakras), and it can also be done across any distance (love knows no bounds!). Clients often report feeling extremely relaxed, and cleared of blockages and tension after a treatment. In person treatments are followed up with a chat about what transpired in the session, and after distant sessions, Tammy sends you a written summary of the experience.
*Tammy is a Reiki IIIa Master trained in the traditional Usui system under her teacher, Reiki Master Beatrix Schilcher.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has its roots in osteopathy and various indigenous healing and bonesetting traditions. The practitioner assumes a position of deep stillness and presence with the client that allows the client's system to come to a place of stillness and relaxation from which a great balancing - of fascia, muscles, and other tissues, and also deeper layers of emotional tension - can take place. Hands are gently placed on various points along the continuum between the head (cranium) and tailbone (sacrum) to facilitate flow along the central channels of the body, which generates a global relaxation effect. This is a powerful treatment for conditions like joint issues, headaches, chronic pain and trauma symptoms.
*Tammy is a graduate of Body Intelligence's Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Two-Year Diploma program. She also completed several Craniosacral workshops with renowned therapist Rosemary Wallace in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
